I’ve been listening to your tapes for about a year and a half; the rewards, positive thoughts and changes just keep coming. The first time I listened to one of your tapes I had a serious prescription drug problem, anxiety attacks, migraine headaches and low self esteem. Dear Barrie,  The two tapes that were most helpful to me in overcoming my addiction to cocaine were “Depression” and “Freedom from Drugs”. I listened to both sides of the Freedom from Drugs tape during the first few months of my recovery. I listened to the subliminal side more often that the self-hypnosis version on that tape. I listened to both sides of the “Depression” tape every day for months and months after I stopped taking cocaine. Sometimes I listened to that tape two or three times in one day, and I will occasionally listen to it now. Also, I had purchased and started listening to both tapes before I consciously decided to take the necessary steps to overcoming my addiction. Dear Barrie,  Today is my three year anniversary of freedom from a 2 year addiction to cocaine. The last year of the addiction was especially nightmarish as I was doing cocaine morning, noon and night, and I was in a very abusive relationship. I am a huge fan of Barrie’s work. Many years ago, I purchased audio tapes from you ( I bought “Self- Confidence” and “Having a Baby”). I absolutely loved that voice, and had such a sense of well being after listening to them… Actually, I don’t think I ever made it to the end of the tapes…I was fast asleep before that. I purchased your tape “Having a Baby” and would like to tell you my experience with it. When my first son was born in 1986 I had to have a C-section. It was a horrible experience. I made up my mind to do everything possible to avoid another Caesarean in the future, but I knew I had lots of work to do to rearrange my subconscious thinking. I used the tape from the time I was 6 months pregnant and listened to it twice every day no matter what. I was in labor for 24 hours but it was very easy for most of that time. I was not scared or nervous the whole time, not even once! When a strong contraction would come it actually felt good! (Like the feeling you get after running or exercising). I was in total harmony with myself and had a supportive doctor and nurses who wanted to avoid another C-section as much as I did. I played the tape while in labor and even my doctor commented, “What is that? I sure feel relaxed by it”. My second son was born on his due date after only about 15 minutes of pushing. It was the most beautiful experience! He was so calm and alert and he looked right at my husband and me like he knew us already. This birth was such a miracle and a wonderful experience, and I want to thank you so much for helping me with that tape. I find the relaxation technique helps me even now when I get uptight. I am writing to Thank You for your Subliminal and Self Hypnosis tape on the “Fear of Driving”. I am a 36 year old single mother of 3 children and I had never thought that I would ever be able to drive for many years. I had a terrible fear of driving but as I had started to listen to your tape I had felt myself getting a lot more stronger and more confident to at least to try to learn to drive. So I decided to hire a driving school to try to help me after listening to your tape for over 30 days. I had gone down and took the driving test and I had passed the test. Dear Sir: I am seldom serious about anything, but after using your tape “Fear of Death” I had to write and thank you seriously. In July my door was kicked in by burglars while I was at work, then just a month later someone tried to break in in the middle of the night while I was at home. I became very frightened and apprehensive, and remained that way even though I had window and door guards installed. After using the tape for only a week, I was sleeping soundly at night, taking showers without fear, and functioning as a normal individual instead of a fear-ridden neurotic. My home has always been a place of peace and tranquility, a place to retreat from the stresses and strains of modern life, and I thank you  for restoring that peace and tranquility to me. In our church bulletin this morning there was an article about Jesus which said in part “He met people where they were and took them where they never dreamed they could go.” In a different way, that is exactly what your tapes do.
